How to pick out the best strawberries
- Pick out bright red strawberries! – the brighter the color, the more flavor they will pack.
- Check for mold! – Strawberries have a short life after they are picked, make your strawberries do not have mold on them.
- Look for plump berries – Berries that are shriveled are past their prime.
- Buy local and in season – always go local and purchase in season if possible.
- Smell them! – if they smell fresh, they are going to taste oh so good!

This sound good, but I thought the Romanoff sauce has some additional spices in it such as cinnamon and/or nutmeg.
It’s been a while since I tasted it so I ought to get the real thing and then try your recipe. Thanks for sharing this!Reply

We made this for the weekend but there were children present so we use Mexican Vanilla in place of the brandy Major hit!
