Ed Sheeran at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford: Everything you need to know (2024)

It's all Ed.

The upcoming two-show run this weekend of Ed Sheeran at MetLife Stadium inEast Rutherford is going to be all Ed Sheeran. He’s performing his current North American solo tour quite solo —no band and certainly no backingdancers, either.

“Everything here is completely live,” said Sheeran to the crowd Sept. 6 at Busch Stadium in St. Louis, according tothe Post-Dispatch. “It comes from this guitar and this microphone, and I control it with my feet.”

Sheeran was referring the foot pedals on the stage floor at Busch. He apparently knows how to make a connection to his audiences, whether he’s front of tens of thousands in a stadium or on a street corner of Galway in Ireland, where he got his start.

Since then, he’s had three multi-platinum albums, Grammy Awards and hits like “Perfect,” “Thinking Out Loud,” “Sing,” and “Shape of You.”
